Everytime i restart my computer or laptop the mapped drive from dns 323 always disconnect itself. So i have to use the easy search utility tool to map the drive again. Is this suppose to happen? Anyone have this kind of issue beside me? Kinda suck that if i want to access the drive i have to map it everytime my computer/laptop need to restart

Did you make a persistent connection?
-
Yup, that is definitely an issue with your computer and nothing really to do with the DNS-323. Whichever operating system you are using should be able to provide a persistent connection that will restore after a reboot. All Windows platforms have this support.

hmm...any idea where i should be start looking at this issue?
-
What operating system?
Windows XP, click the "reconnect at logon" check box when mapping the drive.
-
both PC and laptop are using win 7 64bit.

great now the dns 323 dont even show up under my network folder. And i have it listed in the same workgroup as well. Oh man this is starting to drive me nuts.

What firmware and what hard drives?
-
Did you tell the computer firewall that you are in a local network?
Is the IP of the NAS changing?
-
Is ok i manage to fix the issue. Just have to change my workgroup name to something else beside workgroup. After that i was able to map the drive and it can still connect itself after a reboot. Thanks for all the help =)

Odd, my workgroup name is indeed workgroup, and I've had no issues with the DNS-323 or DNS-321 reconnecting after a boot. That covers Windows 2K through Windows 7/64-bit versions.
