Title: Intermittent dropouts connections? Here's a solution....
Post by: pcpro on July 08, 2010, 12:43:04 AM
If your system setup gets intermittent dropouts/loss of connections and you can't use peer to peer softwares or your Xbox 360 etc. :

uncheck/disable : (Enable DNS Relay)   root: SETUP/NETWORK SETTINGS/(Enable DNS Relay)
uncheck/disable : (Enable UPnP)            root: ADVANCED/ADVANCE NETWORK/ (Enable UPnP)

Give it a test and drop me your happiness in words if it has worked for you! :O)    ;D

Can anyone else confirm this works?

Tried it for another reason/cause and it did not work there... I do not own an Xbox 360 so no real actual denial or confirmation from me.

OK, I will give it a try and see what's up. It doesn't see to have destroyed my connection at any rate, and it looks like this is fend-for-yourself-tech-support with D-Link. I thought they were a reliable company. Oh well....

Many thanks pcpro!

An hour after unchecking the two DNS Relay and UPnP boxes, the problem appears solved...  Waiting to see when the local network gets more traffic, but obvious immediate functional improvement.
