Hello everyone,
I think this type of router does not have a DNS server installed, so I can't create a DNS record, but I am still going to ask. Is it possible to setup a fully qualified domain name to resolve to an internal IP address?
If not with the default firmware, maybe with an update, or another firmware (DD-WRT)?
Has anyone tried this before?
The reason I want to do that is that I want to access one of the computers in my local network from both inside and outside of the network. I already have an FQDN resolving to my static external IP address and port forward to that computer. Now I only want to use that same FQDN to connect from inside the LAN.
Thanks all for your help,
Bogdan

You can set up a local DNS service with dd-wrt. I don't know about d-link's firmware. I don't use it.
