Title: No encrypted FTP access.
Post by: liammaps2010 on July 20, 2010, 08:15:34 PM
I am only able to access my NAS via FTP when away from home if I don't use encryption. I am using FireFTP.

I would like to use TLS or SSL encryption when using FTP over the internet.

It took me a week just to get this far.

When I am at home though, encrypted FTP works. If I am away from home, only unencrypted FTP works.

I am losing my patience with this device.

This is my home login file:

That is one of many things that does not work.  There are a lot of us that have been waiting a long time for that and other functions to be fixed.  Hopefully that will be fixed in the next firmware release but who knows when that will be.

D-Link has not responded to give us an idea when that will happen.

That's pretty disappointing. Are you doing unencrypted FTP?

I guess I should take back the DNS (Did Not Start) 323 and spend the extra bucks for a Netgear product.

My experience has been a joke with this product. It took me over an hour to format my disks because the firmware it shipped with could not format hard drives. What a joke!

Look a the Synology or QNAP products if you want to move upscale, forget Netgear. :)
