Title: Missing Bonjour add-on package: where to get file?
Post by: jaypeecee on July 21, 2010, 09:01:26 PM
I've spent the last hour on the phone with D-Link support trying to get them to tell me where this file went, and twice as long Googling around and searching forums with no luck. Here's the deal:

I'm trying to enable Bonjour access to the DNS-323 using D-Link's add-on package that is noted in the 1.08 firmware changelog, and is referenced here:

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=12102.msg73379#msg73379

and is was apparently formerly at this URL:

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dns323/Beta/Apps/dns323_bonjour_package_100_07292009.zip

and now it's not.

All I want is this add-on. It worked with 1.08, it apparently works with 1.09 (what my DNS-323 is running), and the file disappeared from D-Link's FTP without a trace and without explanation.

If someone can point me to a file mirror, or if anyone has the APKG downloaded or installed on their unit and can send me the package so I can install it on mine, I'd be extremely grateful. Apparently I'm not alone in this request either:

Help? Or at least can someone enlighten us as to why the package was pulled

I download and save everything :)

Try this link http://www.mediafire.com/file/4wp39mv32653i3t/dns323_bonjour_package_100_07292009.zip

Thanks dosborne!
Downloaded. Installed. Works.
Only advertises hhtp and smb services though (no afp/netatalk ...). Didn't find if and how it can be configured.
Connecting to the device via smb is a lot 'snappier' though when advertised via Bonjour.

Thanks a million dosborne - we really appreciate it.

zwalex, just to clarify, you have it installed and running on FW 1.09, correct?

I went through the same search and then reviewed the the revision information for FW 1.08.  Based on the statement "Support for Bonjour added via APKG modules.", I assumed (love that word) that the Bonjour add-on was no longer needed.  My DNS-323 is now working in our OS X 10.6 and Windows Vista environment, at least as far as I can tell.

It seems the bonjour package cannot be downloaded via that link on mediafire anymore :(
Does anyone know if this package is still somewhere available?

I have problems connecting to my DNS-323 using SMB. It is very unreliable. Installing firefly does not solve it.I would like to try  bonjour.

Hello Dosborne,

Thanks for the update!

I am downloading it now. It didn't work two days ago. Maybe a temporarily problem at the site?
