Title: 2 Problems...cant update firmware and wireless drops after 2 minutes
Post by: wowdusk on July 21, 2010, 10:47:35 PM
well the topic pretty much says it all. i cannot update the firmware on my DIR-655. when i click   Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version : it tells me that...This firmware is the latest version. i am using firmware 1.21 ( Current Firmware Date :  2008/10/09 ).  i tried manually updating it but i get the error saying " The uploaded firmware file may not be correct. You may have uploaded a file that is not intended for this device, or the uploaded file may be corrupted.

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.

The Gateway will not be reprogrammed."

even though i downloaded the update right from d link.

Also my wireless internet drops out every 2 minutes. i set up a new wireless connection using my desktop that is wired to the router directly and that always works. it is only the wireless that drops. i would get my laptop or ipod touch connected for 2 minutes and they just lose their signal. its really frustrating.

What firmware do you have now and what did you download?

Number plus the region code.

That is an easy solution for trying to load the wrong firmware.

By the way, you just opened up another world by buying a Linksys: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=14127.0
