I have had a few power interruptions in the last month. When all my infrastructure recovers, the NAS's are still down. Is there a way to make them come back up automatically?
-
I don't think so. The latest version of the DNS-323 has that capability, but only with hardware version C.
-
With ROM 1.03 is it possible and hardware unit revision C1
From release notes for 1.03
6. Unit can now be configured to automatically recover power after a power loss (revC1 only).

So what you are saying is that even though I have firmware v1.03 but because my hardware version of the DNS-321 is A2 and while I am traveling the power in my house goes out I will not be able to access my FTP server until I return home? Wow I don't think I would have purchased this if I would have known that.

Well, now you know that. :)
There was a "hack" presented here some time back to modify the hardware for automatic power up, don't remember the title, but it's here someplace. :)

get a UPS?

Sure, but what happens when the power outage exceeds the capacity of the UPS batteries?
