Title: Setting Router for Wireless Printer ....
Post by: vja4Him on July 24, 2010, 05:43:00 PM
How can I set my D-Links 655 router, so that our Epson WorkForce 615 can print wirelessly with a secure network?

The printer works just fine, but only when I disable the secure network settings.

I got the printer to see our network, and I could enter the password, but still cannot print when our network is secure.

What am I doing wrong? What settings do I need to change?

First you need to check if the secure protocol used on the LAN is compatible with/supported by the printer.

Can't do that for you.

How would I find out if our printer is compatible with the router?

manual/technical specifications (of both) perhaps?

I read through the manual and it appears that the printer should be compatible with our router. The printer is only compatible with B and G frequencies. I have the router set for all three (B, G and N).

For now, we have the secure network disabled so I can print. I've spent so much time already trying to figure this problem out .... Need to take a break for awhile and get some work done ....

You need to check if the set router security (WEP? WPA? WPA2 AES? ect) protocol is fully supported by the printer.
