Title: Serious QOS problems with F/W 2.00 EU B1
Post by: GMCinema on July 26, 2010, 07:21:55 AM
When enabeling QOS i get a maximum WAN-LAN throughput of about 33MBits/Sec even though
I choose FULL in the drop down list.
I have to disbale QOS to get full throughput of around 51MBits/Sec available to me.
Also upstream the dropdown list only allows 1MBit or 2MBit for my real Upstream being at 1.75Mbits.
What use is this coarse gradation? I am used to a better QOS management on my DIR-655's.

What happens with QOS on? And how exactly are you testing?

What is your connection speed assigned by your ISP?

Well then run a simple speed test to say http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/ and you will see that
with QOS on and no other traffic but the speed test your maximum thoughput is cut to 32Mbits even with the setting at "FULL". The moment you switch QOS off you are back at 50Mbits.

My speed are 10mb download, 0.5mb upload. I set-up the uplink and downlink at full, due to not having a correct option of 10mb downlink. Using the site you provided it works http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/ (http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/) manage to get the 10234kpbs download and 485kbps upload. I think the upload is abit of a hit and miss, working correctly though....

Not sure how great is this QOS, going to try it out.

@phoenix, my point is if you read my mail that with QOS ON the maximum throughput is 32MBits/Second. In your case it does of course not show since you are below this treshhold with your assigned availabe speed through your ISP.

@morphy, this shows bandwith with QOS ON is limited to about 32Mbits/Sec. No such issue on my DIR-655 with F/W 1.34NA.
