So I have the DIR-655 hardware version A3 firmware version 1.21. I downloaded the 1.34NA firmware from the D-Link FTP and am connected to the router via wired connection. I unzipped the firmware and placed the BIN file into the C: directly and uploaded just fine but after the router reset, the firmware is still 1.21! I tried resetting the router but when I logged on afterwards, it still showed 1.21. I can't seem to find anything in the log except "Establishing connection w/ auth server: 174.78.110.160:443." - not sure if this is related? I appreciate any assistance provided!

No, is not related. You need to disable Securespot for that message to go away (on by default).

Thanks for the info. Before I disable it, what exactly does SecureSpot do? Anyone have suggestions for updating my firmware?

I am having the exact same problem, I am on an A3 version running 1.32NA firmware, and have attempted twice now to update to 1.34NA with no change.
Suggestions?

Yeah sorry, was a bit lazy. Looked it up already, then realized that I tried it before but forgot about it since you had to pay for it. Still stuck with the firmware thing though, I even try 1.33NA, will try 1.32NA shortly, but still, weird problem!!
edit: 1.32NA has the same issue and won't update.

Push the reset button and hold it in until lights flash.
Wait for router to finish rebooting then flash firmware.

Got my trusty paperclip, I'll try it and report back.

It worked!!! Thanks a lot, Cobra!

Thats what happened to me too and I read comments to reset the router. I'm running A3 FW 1.33
