Title: Wireless router not staying connected
Post by: CindyRB8603 on August 09, 2010, 10:33:28 AM
I've had my D-link router for about 8-9 months, and over the past 3 weeks, it will not stay connected wireless. It'll connected for a while, and then it'll go through like 10 times of going local connection, and then disconnect and then it'll re-connect and do that over about 10 times, and then it'll stay connected for a while longer and then repeat again.. It's really getting annoying. I've connected our internet service provider modem to our desktop and there is no connection problems with that, it's just the wireless.. Help!

I have a D-Link Model DIR-628

The reason the modem works and the router doesn't is because it's a D-Link! Seriously, you might look at SecureSpot as your problem. This is crap bloatware that D-Link added for "value". However, because of a screw-up, the software doesn't work and D-Link won't help you. I just threw my 614+ (D-link router) in the trash and replaced it with a Netgear router based on the fact that D-link refuses to help its customers with this issue. I won't ever buy D-Link again and from the reports I've seen researching this issue a lot of folks won't either.

I completely agree;  pains me to say it.  My experience with this router posted here.
