Title: lenovo t61 won't play nice with dir-655
Post by: peachmangopinay on August 16, 2010, 06:12:53 PM
orz i apologize ahead of time for my severe lack of technical knowledge.

my old computer (and almost all of my visitors' computer/ipod) worked well with my router-- never had a problem, but now i have a lenovo t61 and it won't connect.

in the wireless network connection window, it says 'acquiring network address' for a couple seconds, stops, then says 'acquiring network address', stops again, over and over. (concurrently in the icon in the lower right hand, the little ball dances for awhile, turns into an x, and does it again.)

i'm currently using windows xp with sp3. i was wondering if there is a way to remedy this without resetting the router because i don't have the cd that came with the router anymore.

You can configure the router without the cd.

If you really feel you need something to setup the router you can get this:

Router Setup (ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir655/Apps/RouterSetup_dir655_410.exe)
