Long story short, I had a virus, so I reinstall windows, and ow after the install and installing a few drivers I cannot by any means get that computer connected to the internet again.
the only thing that would havechanged would be the MAC address since I used a custom one before the reinstall.
I can however access shared files on the other computers on my network, but can't get it online.
the notification icon says im connected, and also I do have an IP. Now I changed the MAC address back to what it was before according to the reservation list on the router, but it doesnt get assigned the ip I reserve for it....and I can't seem to get rid of the reservation now either. I also can't access the router admin pages from the computer thats "broken".
Anyone experience this before?

anyone got some ideas? I can connect to the internet if I go directly from my computer to the modem, I just can't access the internet if I go from computer>router> modem

ok, this was all stupidity and poor memory. 2 words....
Network Filter......
With the MAC address change that computer wasn't allowed to access the net because it wasn't on the list of computers to allow.
