And it says that the 4500 supports simultaneous dual band.
Is this true? After all the time I had playing with it trying to get both the DWA552 (which uses 2.4 only) and my laptop, which most definitely likes 5.8, playing nicely, in the end I just brought the older 4300 out of hibernation to split the signals...
I now am reading that that 4500 can do simultaneous dual band broadcasting?
Or is this a mistake on NewEgg's part?

The 4500 only supports either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz at a time, not at the same time. Mixed modes you can do A thru N all at the same time on 2.4Ghz.

That is what I thought. However the advertisement does say simultaneously. I was about to blow my top when I saw that and I know for a fact, after having this thing for over 1 year and a half, that I never once saw the option for simultaneous....
Thanks FN

There are other places where it states its one or the other in that post
Xtreme N Duo Technology
With Xtreme N Duo wireless technology, the D-Link DGL-4500 delivers ultra-fast wireless data transfer rates of up to 300Mbps and supports selectable 2.4GHz or 5GHz band for optimized wireless gaming experience.
Dualband Draft 802.11n Technology (2.4GHz or 5GHz) for Getting Your Game on in the Wireless Band of Your Choice
But that is crappy that they say it in the title like that.

There looking for those prospective customers that are not experienced enough to know the difference.

Yeah for sure, I'll admit I was one before I bought this, not knowing anything about N really, I never even knew there were 2 bands. Doh. Oh well, still a great router, but if I knew that (and that this was like 2-3 yrs old) I probably would have got something newer.

Ya, I'm curious on what the follow on to the 4500 might be like. ;D :o ???

I paid 169$ about 4 months ago on Newegg. I have a feeling this place might get a little busier.
