Title: need HDD failure/replacement procedure - can't find it

hi,

i got the following from unit 2 today, and need to fix it.

HDD4 Hard Drive Has Failed

I'm trying to find the correct process which i know i read, but no search strings are finding the post.

any input / suggestions welcome

Believe it or not , its in the FAQ.
Just did it for slot3 (counting top down) now it says sync for 31hrs!
1) turn off 2) swap drives 3) turn on  4) say yes to format and auto sync... wait long time

wow, i would never have thought to look there..  :-[

formatted new HDD outside of toaster, shut down unit, inserted new hdd, powered on 343, formatted HDD again, rebooted, checked status, then initiated manual rebuild.

HARD DRIVE INFO :

Volume Name:      Volume_1
Volume Type:     RAID 5
Sync Time Remaining:     644.8 minute(s)

keeping fingers crossed, but it appears all data is still there & accessible
