Title: Help! Route frequently drop internet
Post by: cddcf on August 23, 2010, 09:20:47 PM
My PC connected to DIR-628 (wired) with Firmware 1.12 , frequently dropped internet connection, it can recover automatically in 30seconds.  When I check the route, the web site says:

Please wait....  The gateway is currently measuring your network connection.
Accessing this web page might have an effect on the measurement.

In that time, ping route succeed, just couldn't ping outside, like www.msn.com...

The router does that everytime it detects a connection on its Internet port.

Possible reasons:
1) Loose connection from the modem to the router's Internet port.
2) Dropping connection from the modem
3) Something's wrong with the router's Internet port
4) Something's wrong with the router

Try checking the things I mentioned. If 1-3 are fine, try upgrading the router's firmware.

thanks,

I don't think there is somehing wrong phisically, probably you were right, I need to update the firmware, but people keep saying 1.12 is the most consistent one. Did anybody try the new version released in May? possible 1.24?
