Title: Problems with Invisible SSID Vista OS
Post by: mrh48150 on September 02, 2010, 06:33:10 PM
Everytime I set the SSID Visibility Status to invisible, my laptop using Vista does not connect to the internet.  My other computer (XP) has not issues.

Any suggestions to fix.

Your Vista computer's wireless adapter has issues.

Possible solutions:
A) Remove your wireless profile; create a new wireless profile; make sure that you check the box "connect to this network even if it's not broadcasting" or something...

B) Update the drivers of your wireless adapter

What you need to do is go into the network/sharing center and manually create a wireless connection or modify the one you have now.

Setup/modify the connection and check the box you see highlighted in the picture then all should be OK.

Hiding one's NetworkID is not a security feature, therefore Microsoft did not develop Vista to connect to hidden SSIDs by default. You can try the previous suggestion though.
