Title: Are User Permissions for Multiple Folders Possible?
Post by: NinJustin on September 02, 2010, 08:06:15 PM
Hello  I recently purchased a DNS-321 and so far it's running well.  I am now attempting to set it up as a FTP server for certain users to access files. What I want is for certain users to have access over multiple folders on the server.

ie.

I want User1 to have access over Volume1\Share1
and
User2 to have access over Volume1\Share1 as well as access over Volume1\Share2

So far the issues I have run into are:

1. I don't appear to be able to have a user have permission over multiple folders
2. I don't appear to be able to have a group have permission over multiple folders
3. Users cannot be in multiple groups.

Is there a way to accomplish this?  There must be right?

The longer answer is yes :)

You can setup symbolic links.

Not without installing 3rd party extensions, I'm assuming he's talking with the stock unit. ;)
