Which would be best to set up for a media server. If I understand correctly, both set ups will show up as a single drive.

RAID0 is suitable when you need of "extreeme" speed performances. Considering that the 323 unit uses the gigabit ethernet interface and it is not a so fast unit, it will never reach the maximum speed of the disks.
JBOD will be the best choise for your need.

				Thanks again

Personally, I'd choose RAID-0 if those are the only two choices.  You will get slightly faster speeds (I've done this), and since JBOD will lose your data just as fast with a drive failure, you might as well squeeze all the speed you can out of it.

Raid0 will only work with 2 drives of the same size,
if using different size disk, the RAID0 will be 2x size of smallest disk,
then you will have a 2nd volume with the rest of the sapce

JBOD will work with different sized disk

Well, since he didn't specify the disk sizes, I'm assuming he's buying disks and will buy them the same size. ;)

well "assuming" makes an "ass" of "u" and "ming"

I don't know who Ming is, but, at least its not me...  ;D
-
Isn't that: assume - ass of u and me? :D

I'm not so sure of that, you assumed that he had different sized disks, right?  :-\
-
Nope, I explained both cases... at least that's what I was aiming at...
If its not what it looks like, well you can start calling me "Ming"  ;)
-
OK Ming, whatever you say.  :P
