Hi,
Does anyone know
1. What's the maximum size of the 2.5" HDD can be installed in the router?
2. Any new firmware coming up for A1 newer than 2.00NA?
Thanks in advance

Looking at the frequency of F/W releases for the DIR-685 it is unlikely there will be any further updates
until deep into next year if ever. This router cries for better F/W but D-Link have not sold enough to warrant any more spending on it.
As for the HD there is no upper limit for the size i.e. any 2.5 inch SATA HD will do but performance is very low as a NAS with current F/W or due to H/W limitations. I am using a 250GB and it is a total waste in terms of speed.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
I think the idea of internal drive is cool and as long as they make it good in terms of performance, this can be a good NAS solution for home use. Maybe D-link is not paying much attention to it? if not, well that's too bad. The router's box design is terrible and they need a good designer with good quality control. I received one with top cover out of sync and LCD control won't work.
I read somewhere, there h/w version B of this router. Does anyone know what's the difference between A and B version?
Thanks

There is no hardware 'B1', that my fault for mis-understanding with another member discussion.
Currently there is only 'A1' DIR-685.....
