Title: SSL/TLS always set to YES?
Post by: gijoecam on September 12, 2010, 09:38:04 AM
I've got a DNS-323 running firmware version 1.09.  In attempting to configure my FTP settings, there is an optional check-box for allowing SSL/TLS connections only.  No matter whether I check or un-check this box, the status line says 'SSL/TLS Connection:  Yes' in the FTP server status section.  Is this normal?  Can this be disabled?  I did a full reset on it just 20 minutes ago, and it still came back up with this setting.

Thanks!

You are misinterpreting what meant by the check box and status message.

The check box is for forcing only "SSL/TLS" connections (as in not allowing a regular non-encrypted connection).  The status message is saying that is possible to make connections using "SSL/TLS".  There is no status message that says regular connects are enabled or disabled, which is what would go from yes to no when you change the setting of SSL/TLS being forced or not.

Granted the status message isn't very useful.
