Title: proxy and pptp server
Post by: dcheng on September 19, 2010, 09:39:23 PM
I am currently haveing a working pptp server on a dfl-210

It works where ever i am in the world. But i have an issue. I have a 3G connection on my iPhone, this ISP 3G provider blocks PPTP, but if i choose to use proxy server to connect on my iPhone, the DFL-210 can get the PPTP tunnel up, but i need to know how to correctly configure it inorder to make it work.

Please look at this log, while trying to make the connection

If your ISP blocks GRE (required for PPTP) you have no way except change VPN type.
For example, you can use OpenVPN, but DFL cannot it and you need to add one more device/PC as concetrator.

If my provider tried to pull that crap on me I would raise all kinds of hell.  PPTP and L2TP over IPsec are features of the phone he is paying a premium (and unique to that phone) data rate to use, any blocking is inappropriate.

I am sooooo glad I don't have a provider pulling that on me.
