I own a DNS-321 Enclosure with two hard drives: 1tb and 500gb
How would I go about setting it up so that I can run it as a wireless network and then if I need be take it with me when I travel and connect it directly to my laptop without a router.
Right out of the box I connected it to a router and continued with the rest of installation procedures.
When I disconnect it from the network and then plug into the port on my laptop it comes up in the easy search utility but I am unable to map.
I have searched up and down across the internet and found nothing, except how to connect with wires to a wireless device.

if you your dns is connected straight to a computer, you need to assign static ip first of 192.168.0.x to communicate with the device which has 192.168.0.32.
