Title: Unable to format RAID1 from standard
Post by: MarBar on September 25, 2010, 12:33:58 PM
I'm trying to reconfigure a DNS323 to RAID 1.  But after I select "TOOLS", then "RAID", then "Set RAID type and Re-format" it gives me a screen to select the various configurations. "Standard" is pre-selected with the other foremats below it.  I try to select "RAID 1" but the screen doesn't allow me to select it.  Its stuck on "Standard"

Ive tried for several hours trying differant approached and even turned Security off but I'm not able to select "RAID 1" Any ideas on what is wrong? Any help would be approached... Thank You...

If you go to "STATUS" the "Hard Drive Info:" shows one volume.

Thanks for the guidance.  When I looked at the STATUS and it said one volume, I looked at the DNS 323 unit and found only one blue device light on.  I thought, well that's the problem- the other volume isn't running.  I opened the unit and found only one volume- My bad... I assumed (ass u me) since it was a two bay that it had two vols.

Next step- get another vol.  Sorry for putting you through that...  I'll do my homework next time-  Thanks for you help... David...
