Hello all.
I simply cannot get this to work. My NAS works fine internally. I can watch movies, transfer files, map drives. All is well. But I simply cannot get this thing to work as an FTP.
Here's my setup. AT&T DSL via a Westell 6100 modem -> Linksys WRT105N Router -> Netgear 5 port switch -> NAS
Router's IP is 192.168.2.1
NAS has a static IP of 192.168.2.120
ROUTER:
I've reset my router to factory default and started from the ground up.
Firmware: 1.01.9
Reset router IP to 192.168.2.1 (It's just a thing I do...I can't really explain it)
Turned on Single Port forwarding in my router for port 21 to my NAS's Static IP of 192.168.2.120
When that didn't work...
Turned on Port Range forwarding in my router for port 21 to my NAS's Static IP of 192.168.2.120

Since the 6100 is also a router unless it's bridged, that's probably the issue. When you connect directly to the 6100 with a wired connection, do you get a public IP address or a 192.168.x.x address? If it's the latter, that's your problem. Ideally, you'd bridge the 6100 to eliminate it's NAT layer. If that isn't possible, you can configure it to put the secondary router in it's DMZ, which will eliminate port forwarding in the 6100.
