Title: DIR655 B1 Issues
Post by: tmathews on October 04, 2010, 08:58:25 PM
Hi,

I just got a DIR655 hardware version B1 with the 2.0 firmware installed. I manage to set it up and configure it fine, except that there is no internet access. I plug in the old DIR615 and it manages to get internet access just fine. I have shaw for my high speed internet access. For my IP address it just reads 0.0.0.0 and same for all the other records, except for the local network of course.

Is anyone else experiencing these issues? There appears to be no other firmware to downgrade or upgrade to, as it seems this product is brand new.

Any help is appreciated.

Use your OLD MAC-adress from old router.

You don't need to use your mac address.

What you need to do is powercycle the modem after you hook it up to the router.

Most ISP's only allow the modem one IP address and since the router will have a different address then your other router you need to powercycle when attaching a different device to the modem.

Most ISP:s assign mac-adreess to one WAN-IP. If you want to change just
use anyone and then activate. That is done on activating side from your isp.
