Title: R/W access to folder
Post by: jkanters on October 04, 2010, 09:12:06 PM
I have a problem. My Dir685 needed resetting. Now I can access my folders with read priviliges but are not allowed to write new files. As far as I can see in the online help, I should choose the folder option in the storage fan in the admin program. The problem is that I cannot find any folder option. What to do?

Not sure what you mean, but within the

Storage>FTP Server>FTP Server Settings>Permission>Read Only (Default)

You can set it as Read/Write?

I do not have a FTP server running. I simply use my 685 as a NAS server. After running Windows 7 I do not have write priviliges any more to my files

Oh is the workgroup on the router the same on your system, wonder if that works...

I've done the same set-up though I can read and write to the drive, the only issue I had on firmware 2.00 was that the drive couldn't be detected until the router is rebooted.

I guess that is the problem. Windows 7 uses something called homegroup.
