Title: How do I add 'specific' user access to a folder for only SOME users
Post by: billzinn on October 05, 2010, 04:20:24 PM
Yep - another 'noob' here... asking a question that has probably already been answered...
I have a folder on our DNS-323 that I want only SPECIFIC uers (not a group) to be able to access with R/W rights... but the control interface only (seemingly) allows for the addition of one user to this folder - not allowing me to add only specific users (IE: 'user-a" and "user-d' and "user-g" but no others).
This IS possible, right? or do I have to create a group with ONLY the specific users as members and then add that group as having the necessary rights to that folder...?
I coulda swore that we did this once before - but that was almost a year ago so - uh - I don't remember how we did it ... (or maybe I'm dreaming we did it before... it's been a LONG day...).
Any input...?

Do it with the group, you can only add one user.

Note that when you add any protected shares, you will lose the ability to have any anonymous shares.
