Title: Could I block live.com but access hotmail on Outlook?
Post by: charlievm on October 05, 2010, 04:36:39 PM
Hello, I have a DFL-260 on transparent mode with rules blacklisting several pages including *live.com/* so a group of users don't access messenger on the webpage and connect to facebook, but some users do use a second alternate email hotmail account on Outlook and this does not work anymore with my rule on.

I have made several unsuccessful tests.

Has anyone made this possible? have access to a hotmail account in outlook but have the webpage live.com blacklisted and denied? please share the trick

Thank you

Hi,
The only solution i see so far is the WCF module and the wwwemail site groupe.

that should prevent any www email site to be accessed from the browser and allow the outlook to connect to hotmail.

Using IMAP, POP3 or SMTP instead of HTTP acess to the email accounts would solve this, wouldn't it?
