Title: Dir-655 and Broadcom 4321AG optimum settings???
Post by: Alemaker on April 02, 2008, 05:52:46 PM
Hi,

Just purchased a brand new HP tx2000z with the Broadcom 4321AG draft N wireless nic. Since I've always used an Intel 4965, I am not familiar with the optimum settings needed to consistently get the fastest speed out of this nic with the DIR-655. Does anyone have any info as to what I need to set the router and the advanced properties of this nic to, to realize the fastest speeds???  With the Intel 4965 it was easy, just set channel width to 20MHz only, but with this Broadcom nic, and the router channel width set at auto, my actual speeds as reported by Vista network bounce like a ping pong ball from less than  11Mbps to 270Mbps and everywhere in between, constantly. Any help?
 ???

I also seem to have this issue, on a tx1320us. It seems ok for the most part, but the speeds do bounce around. Even if they didn't though I like to have all of my stuff set up on the premium settings. Anyone have soem good suggestions other than the default stuff?
Thanks in advance,
-Rick

See if that helps you. If your ping pongng on one machine and not the other, I'd blame the machine, but thats just me.
