Title: Cannot map up a drive to DNS-323
Post by: georgebaker on October 07, 2010, 06:46:55 AM
Hello,

I have an DNS-323 and it have worked perfect for the last 1½ year.

Now suddenly i cannot map up a network drive in Windows XP.

No problem when i access DNS-323 through my browser though.

I have take out the power and the battery from my laptop and let it rest for 5 min
I have tried to remove my netcard on my laptop and reinstall it, no luck.
I have another PC with Windows7 Ultimate no problem mapping up a network drive.
Also tried to take out the power from the DNS-323 device, no luck eather

Any idea what the problem can be?

Can you describe the actual problem? Have you tried manually entering the share info rather than browsing to the share? DId you enter the proper userid and password?

I cannot access my "z" drive anymore from my laptop.

I am entering the share name when i'm trying to map my network drive : \\192.168.x.xx\hdd_1

I'm not entering username and password when i try to map my network drive.

Is your laptop wireless?  Did you try a wired connection?

I suddenly hit me. The firewall!

Zonealarm was the problem, it has never been a problem before. Strage!

Thanks for your suggestions.
