Title: DNS-323 upnp streaming - ps3 (mp4)
Post by: canadianbacon on October 09, 2010, 11:58:33 PM
Long time listener, first time caller.
hi everyone.

while streaming an mp4 from my ps3 using the 323's Upnp , any other traffic  to the 323 (unc browse, ftp etc.) will cause the movie to stop playing on the ps3. After this happens, the ps3 is unable to play any movies from the 323 until i reboot the 323.

If no other traffic to the 323 is initiated, my media plays without interruption.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

in my opinion, 100 mb/s wired ethernet connection is problematic when playing movies on ps3 over network. gigabit wired works fine and wifi, too. might be some kind of buffering issue in ps3 firmware.

i use 100mbit full duplex, and never had an issue.

might be it was an issue with older firmware. still, i was going to buy gigabit switch anyways. wdtv live seems to manage with 100 mb/s well, so i never thought the problem was with network itself, just ps3 behaving differently with different interface speeds.

must admit, I have always jumped to the latest firmware when available. But then again on 1.06 all seemed fine with the ps3, apart from having to use triangle then display all to see all videos / films.
