Title: Wired connection extremely unstable.
Post by: Turfy on October 12, 2010, 08:24:18 PM
For the past few months now, I've been having an issue with the router dropping the internet connection.

I have been calling the tech support about this issue every time, and finally after a call today, they said that we have tried everything in the troubleshooting process for the router that they have on file.

I;ve been sent to Senior technicians and product specialists about this and it has come to an end as they say we have done almost everything in the troubleshooting, but still tell to call back if it continues to occur.

I'm starting to think that this is more of an issue with my Windows 7 now rather than the router because they have replaced it and it has the same problem.

Do any of you guys know would could be the problem..?

I have 7 64 pro and do not have any issues wired or wireless.

Have you tried disabling power management of the Network adapter?

Find the properties of your network card (hardware) through Configuration-Hardware and Sounds-Device manager

I turned it off, we'll see what happens. I also moved the router next to my computer and I am now using a 4-6 feet ethernet cable from computer to router, we'll see if that does anything as well.
