Can I get some insight as to why I can't get subs to work by pushing the shift button on the remote as the instructions state. Thanks,

I am very sorry but .srt subtitles are not supported on the DSM-510. This device support embedded DIVX subtitles only.

I had the same question and reply to my question was that the next firmware upgrade will support srt files and Internet radio. See the link below:

That statement implied that it would be an update for the DSM-510 and not or the DNS-323 to add this feature. I am very sorry for the confusion.

I think this causes the confusion. In one thread was mentioned that the subtitle support
would be an update whereas here it's not mentioned. So, to get things straight: It will be an update for the DSM-510, right?

I implied It would need to be an update for the DSM-510 and not the DNS-323 in order for .srt files to be supported. I do not know of plans for this option to be added to the DSM-510 at this time.

In this thread: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=1434.0
you said:
Yes the .srt support will be an update for the DSM-510. This will be forwarded to PM along with your internet radio support request for review.
Thank you
What's the status of this request?

No update. I do not know of plans to support this file type at this time.
