Is this product still shipping? I can't find it in stock anywhere and after testing the DGL-4500 I KNOW I want to have both radios working at once... the 5 GHz for my N notebook and the 2.4 GHz for my wireless camera and iPhone.
I have 29 days remaining until I need to return the DLG-4500 (I thought it had two radios at once until I got it).
Also, can someone give me a hint on what radio is being used in the 855? I wanted to compare it to the Linksys WRT350N and WRT600N as I currently own the WRT350N and was looking at the 600N, but I've been hearing that my MacBook with the Intel chip and chipset aren't too friendly with the radios that are in the Linksys models. I also don't get very good signal strength in the apartment I'm in with the 350N, and comparing to the strength (and speed tests I've done) of the D-Link, I'd rather get the 855 if I can find it somewhere.
Thanks all.

The shipping and manufacturing of that unit has been halted because of a manufacturing error on the device.
We are correcting it asap and will continue to ship the device asap.
-
Is there a time frame on when production will start up again?
Thank you.

Any update on this? I don't need exacts, but I'd like to know I'm not waiting until December of next year for this...
-
SmallNetBuilder claims the DIR-855 has been pushed back to a June release.
-
Thank you very much for your feedback and the date of June.
I wish a D-Link rep could give a date, though... but I suppose I understand why they can't. I just wish they had said they couldn't if that was the case...
-
We are also pushing for a June, however it's tentative.
-
I have one of the first released models which has not performed up to standards. It has the wiring issue so the range is almost non existent.
Will you be swapping these units out???
-
I would imagine so.
-
I'm curious if D-Link has stopped selling these units? It was a tentative date of June (which I understand is an estimate, not a hard delivery date) but here it is, almost August, and nobody has these for sale; not even the D-Link store.
Is this model finished? Should I just get a different version and be done with it or what? I'm really wanting the dual radio feature so I was holding out for this router, but it seems as if it will never materialize and I'm getting frustrated. Is there any update on this?
-
They should be re-released very shortly.
We just got our hands on them, I would believe that they should be out soon.
-
I have not one but two of the newly revised units on the way to me from D-link and due to arrive tomorrow.
Not sure if they will see the light of day through retail but suppliers out there are quoting 2-3 weeks for availability
its a shame they have really backed themselves into a corner while others (linksys) have come out with a competing unit
that performs better for half the cost.
come on D-Link show us some LOVE
-
Is there any update on this?
It appears as though no one has these units in stock, and the ETA keeps getting pushed back...
Even the D-Link Store doesn't have them still... what's going on? Is this unit ever going to make it to retail?
-
Who is "no one has them in stock"? I know of three major distributors that have received them over the last week.
Online retailer that I know received stock
Tiger Direct
Amazon
Buy.com
On-line retailer I know does NOT have stock
Dlinkshop.com
-
Shopblt.com
Amazon.com does NOT have it listed, much less in stock
Zipzoomfly.com
Provantage.com
Newegg.com
Etc...
I would consider these all relatively large distributors in the computer world...
Tiger Direct I will never shop from. Outrageous prices and very poor customer support.
EDIT: Amazon.com now DOES have it listed, but it is listed as unavailable.
EDIT 2: Buy.com also lists it as out of stock.
-
well if I dont get my voip issue worked out I will sell mine !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Newegg - nothing
Provantage - backordered
Zipzoomfly - nothing
Tiger Direct has shipped mine (which cost less than on Provantage btw) but now the site says 'no longer available'. They seem to have sold out instantly.

When I referred to Distribution. I was talking top line. The people that the retailers you mentioned get the products from.
and supplies will go fast. Available units at each retailer will obviously still be limited by available quantities sent to distribution and then by which distributor the retailers get fulfillment from.......
More units are being shipped out (from USA HQ) next week.

Still waiting on this.....
This product has been off the shelf for quite a while now and with an initial re-release of June and it now being August, there are obviously some issues remaining. I do appreciate d-link not releasing the product again with flaws and working to get them fixed.
What is the latest estimate for having this out on the shelves of retailers? I'm willing to spend the money on it but not willing to wait for something that may not come out for a long time.
Thanks

I was watching it at mwave.com. For the past week or two they've had availability estimates of mid-August. Today it is showing as January 2009. What's up with that?!?
-
I just don't know who the Distys are allocating too but,
Ingram Micro
Tech Data
D&H have all received DIR-855 Rev A-2 in the last week.
I don't know who is buying from them. They all have open orders for more though.
edited to correct new revision number.

I'm still baffled at why normal on-line sites aren't carrying these. I would think that they should be on shelves by now if d-link is producing these in any kind of quantity.
Any idea on what is going on? Or better yet....where can I buy one? ???
-
you want to buy mine. Only two weeks old. D-link has given up on me with regards to my voip issue so I am giving up on them.
-
SOLD TO CRANIUM
I am keeping my A1 rev 855 for now and maybe someday D-link will convince me to update to the newest firmware :)
