I recently just bought the DWA-552 and have put it in to my new computer. Trying to install it, it automatically downloads the drivers and then gives me and error code 10 the device cannot start. It doesnt make sense since it detects the card and finds the drivers it just isnt turning it on.

Hi blueicing,
You need to disabled the Onboard Ethernet Port on the motherboard through Computer BIOS.
New Computer? Operating System, version and Service Pack Level if any?
Router?
I don't understand, how it could automatically download the drivers?
-
Ok will try that. Definately new computer built it two days ago. I got win7 pro. I dont think there is any service packs but ill try that and get back to you.
Well that didnt work either.

Hi blueicing,
Windows 7 Professional? 32-bit or 64-bit version?
Are you installing the right drivers for the card for the operating system Bit version you have?
-
Win7 64 Bit, EVGA h55V Motherboard, And yes downloaded win7 64bit drivers.

Hi blueicing,
You still have not mentioned your Router?

My router is a DIR-655, I dont see how that is relevant as my card cannot even turn on to detect a wireless network.

Hi blueicing,
I am not saying that the Router is relevant. But once the card is working, the Router is relevant.
Is this a brand new card, or less than one Year old? Have you tried Phone Support?
Did you read the thread, where others are having the same problem?
-
This is a brand new card less than a week hardware version E5 Firmware 1.6 I beleive. I called phone support they told me to go buy a usb n adapter (usefull). Yes i read and tried the windows vista 64bit drivers for my computer but there was no success.

Hi blueicing,
Call Support back and request an RMA for the card. Don't have another computer to try the Card in. You should be only concerned about this current computer of yours.

Ok I was just checking for any solutions for the problem. I've already started one with my reseller. Thanks for your time thecreator!

Hi blueicing,
You are welcome! I currently have the card installed with an Axper XP-P41533PE motherboard running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 with just the drivers being installed, not the entire package and Windows controlling the card and it works just fine.
I had Beta Tested all versions Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit Version, including the Final Version and it worked just fine. This was the 32-Bit and not the 64-Bit Drivers.
Apparently D-Link is having problems producing viable 64-Bit drivers for this card. You might wish to try a different brand.
And don't forget Windows 8 will be coming out with a 128-Bit version for that operating system. That is going to be FUN. ;D

I would just like to report a success! Got my new card and it worked directly out of the box! Damn faulty cards :(

Hi blueicing,
Just to verify that your new Card, is a DWA-552 Adapter, not another Brand?
