Is anybody else having issues with having to do a hard reboot to restore internet access? i'm getting this every 2-3 days. I'm hooked up to rogers and have 4 computers on the LAN. 1 hardwired, the rest wireless. two on windows 7, 2 on XP Pro.
I also seem to have a speed drop just before net hangs compeletely.
the router is 2 months old and i've been chasing this down since i installed it as a replacement for an old Buffalo g router.
thanks,

What firmware version is loaded on the 4500 router? Is Rogers Cable or DSL? If you have v1.21, this could be the issue and was known to hang the router randomly. If so, update to v1.22 or v.23 is the latest. v1.22 fixed the random hang issue. Let us know if you need help updating.
Save off your config to file first, do a factory reset of the router, then do the update, do another factory rest, test if you want then reload the configuration file so you don't have to manually re-configure everything.

I'll give it a try and report back.

Rogers is Cable. Another Candian ISP, like the Shaw issue we were working on. When your connection kicks out, can you bring up the 192.168.0.1 page of the router on the wired connection? What does it say for Cable status and Network Statushere (http://192.168.0.1/Status/Device_Info.shtml)? Just enter or type in the router password if you set one.

Modem is Atlantic Scientific DPC2100R2.
Firmware is 1.21NA 2009/07/09.
when i check for firmware updates it tells me there aren't any. I'll go check the DLINK site myself in a minute.
Rogers is Cable, not DSL.
I seem to recall thatg the modem seems to be fine as far as the LED"s ae concerned but i haven't confimed this.

Downloaded v.23.
I'll update later and let you know how it goes.
Does this update allow for simultaneous dual band operation or not?
It's not critical, I'm just curious.

update done, no snags. Now we'll see i anything changes.

Eh, v1.21, was known to hang and have random boots. v1.22 fixed that and carried on into v1.23. Should be fine.
