D-Link doesn't seem to provide any of these firmware, I would presume these are beta firmware that may not be stable. Currently testing '2.00_patch03'...

Hi ph0enix. Nice post, thanks for sharing. I have 2 questions regarding those patches:
1. Is it possible to update straight from fw 2.00 to 2.00_patch03 ?
2. Can you downgrade back to the previous fw 2.00?
My thanks in advance.
-
Hi Svetoslav, it was your post that help me find the Patch version ::) ? LOL.
1. Yes, I just went from 2.00 to 2.00 Patch 3
2. I haven't tested it
-
Oh yes, I've already known about the patches and forgot to mention earlier ;) I thanked you for the information as is helpful for the community.
-
Hi ph0enix,
does the router work normally?
-
Svetoslav: well the DIR-685 community isn't exactly happy with these bugs, so figure these patches may help. :-\
stukka: Yes the router is working as normal, what I did:
1. Backup my settings into config.bin
2. Switched off all other devices
3. Use direct connection with Ethernet
4. Flash firmware
5. Restore To Factory Default Settings
6. Log in with no password and applied my settings config.bin.
I haven't notice any changes......
-
Hi ph0enix,
has you tried the 1st pach, did the speed improve when QOS was enabled?
-
stukka: These patches are full firmware, they are 12MB in size. I don't think they would left out any minor issues if you were to update to patch 3. The QOS issue only effect people with over 40Mb+ connection, I've only got a 10Mb connection so cannot test.
-
yes, you are right, at the week end i will give this fw patch a try...a then iŽll report... ;)
-
There is still the DHCP issue with Patch 3, some reason the 360 loses connection and won't connect for 30 minutes.
[Edit] Could be Xbox live issue for signing in, testing still....
-
Just be sure your DIR-685 is not being turned into a SPAM-BOT or worse by these ominous patches.
-
GMCinema: The firmware need to pass D-Link signature check to be able to install, its more likely to beta due to the date in line with the releases.
Though anyone would be worried to try out BETA due to failure in installing new firmware. Please don't blame me for it, this could be acknowledge that D-Link are working on new firmware updates.... slowly for main releases. So far the DHCP Reservation maybe working.... I've got 14 I.P addresses reserved and the detection seems okay for now.

thank you very much ph0enix!
good news with the dhcp !, several guys were complaining about this issue.
as i said earlier i will give a try to patch 3 fw.
-
I really hope that it's 100% working, but just hope I don't give people hopes up. As its not stated in the changelog, worth a try I suppose.
