Title: DHP Powerline Compatibility Query
Post by: billyj2 on November 10, 2010, 04:49:14 AM
I have a pair of DHP-300 sockets which I bought some time ago, I now want to extend this network, but I know the 300 is now end of life.  Which of the current D-Link powerline products is compatible with the DHP-300?

I'm pretty sure the new stuff is not backward compatible.

I can confirm that the new adapters (DHP-500 and DHP-540) are not compatible with the DHP-300 series.

This was rather annoying as it's basically only mentioned in the fine print on Dlink's website for the product.

Installation/setup of the new adapters isn't nearly as easy as the old ones either (at least where the 540 is concerned... I may end up simply taking it back..)
