Title: Only able to connect one wireless device to network
Post by: Frantastic on November 11, 2010, 12:29:32 PM
Hello,
I purchased the D-link DIR-615 router a few days ago. The installation seemed simple enough, but when I tried to connect multiple devices to the network, a message saying "Windows was unable to connect to XXXX" would appear.  The weirdest part of this is that I am able to connect one laptop to the network, but when i try connecting another laptop running windows 7, a macbook and an iPhone,  it woudnt connect. I have tried to reset the router and reinstall it, but that doesnt seem to fix it. Does anyone have suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Hi - This may not help, but I was going through something similar for a month.  Moved into my GF's place a month ago who is using DIR-615-C.  For a month we could only get one CPU hooked up at a time.  Both would work, but not at the same time.  I stole a neighbor's signal and decided to try and fix tonight and all of a sudden (of course) both are working on the router and problem solved.  It may be a Windows 7 update I recently installed (We're both on Win 7 also) or this could be a fluke.  I'll keep monitoring this thread though b/c it wouldn't surprise me if it happens again.
