Title: HELP - Volume 1 of DNS-323 Disappeared
Post by: racoon31e on November 12, 2010, 01:10:48 AM
Hi all.

I have a DLink DNS323 with firmware 1.08 set up in standard configuration with 2 x 1TB Samsung F3 HDDs. I am using Windows Vista Ultimate x32 SP2.

They were mapped by the Easy Search Utility into Y:\ (Volume 1) and Z:\ (Volume 2), and both have been working fine for the past 2 months.

However today, Y: cannot be seen in My Computer under Network Location.

When I used the "net use" command in cmd, it returns this:

New connections will be remembered.

Status       Local     Remote                    Network

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unavailable  Y:        \\DNS-323\Volume_1        Microsoft Windows Network
OK           Z:        \\DNS-323\Volume_2        Microsoft Windows Network
The command completed successfully.

However when I went into the Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel, I could access DNS323, open Volume 1 (Y:\) and drop and delete files inside.

Additionally, I have tried powering off and on both my PC and my DNS323 but to no avail.

Also, this problem occurred after I installed the packaged DriveClone Pro and restarted the PC as according to installation instructions.

What is this problem and how can I fix this please?

TIA!

Have you tried removing the mapping to them and accessing them through Network Places?  You can also remove the mapping and then relink it.
