Title: Log Warning
Post by: popper on November 14, 2010, 05:30:59 PM
Hey guys, I'm having connection and speed issues with my ISP (cox) and I'm combing my side every chance I can.
Looking at the logs I found a few instances of the following warning:

A network computer never renewed its 'lease' of 192.168.0.197 and has lost its right to use that address. If the device continues to use that address it may cause IP address conflicts.

There's two each time. One for the wired desktop and the other for the wireless laptop.

Should I be concerned? Even if it nothing to be concerned with is this issue addressable?

Thanks

I would first check the wireless security and make sure that you have set it to a secured network.  It could be that you unsecured wireless network is having a "neighbor" PC connecting, unknown to you, onto your network.
