Hello everyone, I am having issues making and receiving calls using wifi with my Blackberry Curve 8900. The sound quality is horrible it constantly breaks up. When I turn wifi off on the phone and make a call it is fine so it must be something with my DIR-655 router. Does anyone know if there is a setting that needs to be changed to improve this? Thanks to everyone in advance!!!

You didn't say which 655 router you have. If it is the A revision, go to Advanced Wireless and uncheck SIP.
That will usually solve VOIP problems.

I have version A4. Where is the box for Advanced Wireless? I do not see that. After logging in, on the pane to the left there is a wireless tab but clicking that does not take me to advanced wireless. If I click on the advanced tab at the top of the screen and then click advanced wireless it takes me to an advanced wireless settings screen but there is nothing that says SIP

On the Advanced tab> Firewall Settings.

I unchecked SPI but that did not seem to help the quality it still cuts in and out

Oops I realized I unchecked SPI when I should have done SIP. I did that and the quality is still bad!!!

Do you have any issues with calls when you have WiFi connected at any other locations? Could be your phone's WiFi causing interference with your Cell signal rather than the router.

Try a different wireless channel and/or turning off any security on the wireless signal (WEP, WPA(2) etc). See if that helps
