Title: Connecting to a Wii
Post by: wildflwr on April 21, 2008, 02:08:32 PM
I have a DIR615 and am unable to connect to the internet with my Nintendo Wii.  When I look for an access point on the Wii, my network shows up okay, I enter the WEP key, but cannot connect.  Am I missing something.  My computers (3) all have no trouble accessing the internet through my router.

Is your HW version a version B?  If so, try logging into the router at the address 192.168.0.1 and use "admin" as the user name and no password.

From there, click "advanced" and "wi-fi protected setup".  Disable that and click "save settings".  See if that helps your Wii.

It's Version B....I did as you suggested but it still doesn't connect.  It sees the network though.

Ok, when you go back to your router page, try setup, then "wireless settings" then click the button manual wireless network setup.  From there you will find "channel width".  What is it set to?  please try 20mhz.  Also, try changing channels to see if that helps.

Also, have you tried other security such as WPA?  Or have you tried without security?

One other thing, you should look into updating to the most recent firmware for the product.  You will find the current version on the top right corner of your d-link page.
