Title: admin timeout
Post by: dtkerns on November 25, 2010, 05:38:52 PM
Is there anyway to change the timeout value? It is currently WAY TO SHORT .. O(60 seconds) ... this needs to be O(60 minutes) ... It is VERY frustrating to try to configure the router (cross referencing 3 or 4 other documents or pieces of data) and EVERY time I come back to the router it has timeout and presents me w/ the login screen.

I'd be happy to disable the whole timeout c-r-a-p completely... after all, it's in MY house!

Unfortunately there isn't any way of disabling or changing the timeout period. If you really need to configure something an save the changes, I would safe off the Configuration to File each time you make a change. Or you will have to keep clicking a menu item to keep resetting the time out period.

Only work around I can think of is something I used to do to fix a issue I had similar with a remote database I accessed. Get Firefox with Tabmix plus. Open a windows with two tabs, set the routers access pages as both tabs, set the focus on the 2nd tab, set a 30second reload timer on the first tab, save as a session, then save that session as a shortcut on your desktop. Page renews every 30second which renews the certificate, and ::poof:: not more timeout? No idea if it would work, but worth a try. Alot of work though for a small issue.
