Title: DynDNS with router used only as access point?

Not sure exactly how it all works networking-wise, but I am installing a VPN firewall (Netgear, I know...  HOW DARE YOU?!!??), and then I'm going to use my current DIR-615 simply as an access point.  When I use it as just an access point, can I still use the DYNDNS option anymore?  Or now that it's not doing Dynamic DNS (Netgear will be doing this job) it won't have a clue?  Anyone know?

I do not think so.  Dynamic DNS has had problems with the D-link "client" access "module" and might block these updates.

Currently, the DYNDNS updating through the DIR-615 works fine when it's running DHCP.  My question goes beyond if the service will work or be blocked.  If I remove the DHCP function from my DIR-615 and just use it as an access point, can it still correctly run the DYNDNS update?  The reason I'm asking, is that my VPN firewall (a separate piece of equipment farther up the network) will be supplying IPs and be acting as the gateway, so can the wireless AP DIR-615 know the outward facing IP to correctly attempt to update DYNDNS?  Does that make sense?  ???
