Title: Frequent disconnects - Wireless
Post by: Worse on December 03, 2010, 03:37:05 PM
I am getting frequent disconnects using the wireless.  I checked the logs and found...

open bandwidth_tmp.txt fail

I have upgraded the firmware, tried altering a registry key (MTU) thinking that it may be a Nortel VPN client issue, however - problem occurs without running the VPN Client.

I have read a few other posts and tried a few things including enabling the DMZ to looking at telephone interference.

I am sure that it is something really stupid that I am just missing.

Not quite sure where to go next (outside of returning this for another brand).  Please help.

Well, a quick update.
I tried my setup with a few other brand routers and they all worked.  So...

Sorry d-link.  You loose.  I am returning the router now and going with another brand.

Wireless network can be affect by other electronics like microwaves, cell phones, Bluetooth and non DECT 6.0 cordless phones.  However, I also found that D-link is more sensitive to this type of disconnects.  I too said "Bye Bye D-Link!"
