I installed D-View Cam 3.11 on a platform running 64 Windows 7 Pro. It runs! This is the good news.
The bad news is I set things up incorrectly. I did not run the Setup Wizard for the cameras first. Firmware upgrades, getting the cameras set up on my secure home wireless network, and a few breaks later I was ready to try D-View again.
I re-installed the download. I ran it and it asked for the admin name and password. Since I had only used it one, I forgot it a long time ago.
I un-installed the the software again. I then went look for any trace of D-View or D-Link on the machine. I deleted anything I found. Including the registry.
I re-installed the software. Same problem. I cannot get past the admin/password login.
Were do I find the switch to tell the software this is the first time it has been run so I can set a new admin and password?

I have the same problem, cannot reset password, called customer service, they do not have solution. Man, the programmer of d-viewcam 3.11 should know, right?

Anyone know where you can download version 3.11? It's not on the web site
that I can find.
Thanks,

Thanks,
It is to be found at url "ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/D-View Cam/" (copy and paste into browser address, mind the space in there!)
Filenames: DViewCam_311.zip and DViewCam_manual_311.pdf

I had the same problem, read all the threads here and figured I was on my own. I uninstlled D-view, went to program files (86), deleted the directory D-Link (check if first to make sure you don't have another Dlink software there. I went into regedit also, but I do not suggest this unless you are familiar with regedit.
I re-installed and it gave me the option to use a new pw. Hope this works for you.

Hi
You just have to delete User00 in the following path of your registry (including all keys it contain):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DlinkViewCam\NewUserAccount\User00
Next time you start the program, it asks for a new Password.
Kind Regards
Kenn

Thanks Warlock for spending the time searching. I will try this one out to see if that is valid on all Windows flavours... Would be a good one.

Guys! I found the solution, REALLY simple and works!!! :D :D
http://www.mmnt.net/db/0/0/203.126.164.142/D-View%20Cam/Reset%20Password-3.x
There is a file and a word document with instructions, all you have to do is place the file in the install folder and run it, but its detailed in the document! I tested on my computer, the first thing that worked because the suggested registry one I couldn't find. ( Windows 8 )

Had the same problem with the install of IPCMultiview cam. Don't even think I had the option when installing to register, and I couldn't login with default admin credentials.
I used your link went to: (1) http://www.mmnt.net/db/0/0/203.126.164.142/D-View%20Cam/Reset% 20Password-3.x
and clicked on: (2) RegEx(0604162224).exe , downloaded the small file of 1.64 mb (3) chose first option to invalidate password. Then logged
in with no password at all afterwards with "admin" as username. Thank you for posting your thread!!! ;D
