Hello, everyone.
I am not very good at computer, but I would like to set up a FTP so I can access to my files through the internet whenever I am away from home. I have DNS-323 and DIR-655 router. In the DNS-323 I have set up the FTP, so when I type ftp://192.168.0.197 then the screen comes up and ask me to input user's name and password. I input the information and it works for me, but only my computer is connected to the router. When I test in real life with my laptop using Roger's mobile internet modem to test if I can access through FTP, I cannot access. Any one please help me step by step how to set it up.
What do I have to do with router DIR-655? I heard about Port forwarding, so on but I reaaly don't know how to do it on DIR-655. My ISP network provider is Shaw.ca. Please help me.
Thank you very much in advance.

First - are you using a static ip address with the DNS-323 - if not, set that up now.
Second - you need to forward port 21 to the DNS-323's ip address - you can find instructions at www.portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com)

You can't use the 192.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address from outside your home network (over the internet). You need to use the IP address that is assigned to you by your Internet Provider.
You router must be configured to forward ports to the DNS as fordem points out in the previous post.
