Title: DI524 Connection Issue to Blu-Ray
Post by: Den32 on December 06, 2010, 06:44:07 PM
Hi, just bought a Samsung BD C6500 Blu-Ray player and having issues connecting to the DLink DI524 Wireless Router.

Have talked to Samsung and Crutchfield without resolution to the issue.  Samsung basically passed the buck to DLink Tech Support, but appears this Wireless Router is no longer supported by DLink.

It is giving me a 'Gateway Ping Error'.  I have been instructed to 'disable the firewall' but have been unsuccessful.  from reading further, it appears the firewall on this DLink can't be disabled?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

Thread is 4 years old and we can presume the OP has moved on.

Also the wireless drivers on the BD Play maybe newer than the WiFi drivers on the DI which is pretty old now and yes, it's no longer developed or updated. Also it might just be that trying to stream video data thru a old WiFi signal will not probably work as the data needs a bigger pipe to have good streaming performances.

I would recommend getting into a more new and modern WiFi router that has up to date WiFi drivers and FW, something like a DIR-636, DIR-655, or some future proofing with a dual band router like a DIR-800 series routers...both 2.4Ghz and 5ghz WiFi. There are several model routers that would probably help solve this issue:
